ULVIK - volume one

distantstar Ulvik conjure up some kind of ghosts here; ephemeral, disembodied, music defined by absence and lack: black metal without the metal, movie soundtrack music without the movie. It’s fitting, then, that coincidentally, this album (and its sequel) became my soundtrack to the surrealist film that was the first lockdown: riding (bike messenger: essential/disposable) through silent, deserted streets, a city without people in a time without precedent and, for all we knew, without future. Favorite track: Talons of time.
